The Etrog and Sukkot

I must admit that I haven't given much thought to the etrog associated with Sukkot (aka Feast of Tabernacles or Booths). But this article by Dafna Langgut was a fascinating read.

Ancient Coins and the Book of Revelation

I have more than a passing interest in ancient coinage and also the biblical text. I have been thinking about how Roman coinage might shed light on one particular image in Revelation. So I was happy to see this video from the sixth annual fall lecture hosted by the Clayton Museum of Ancient History at York University on Sept 27, 2022. Although the issue I am thinking of was not raised in this lecture, I found it interesting nonetheless.

The Fulfillment of Isaiah 7:14

Todd Bolen has written a good defense here of the view that Isaiah 7:14 is strictly fulfilled in Jesus. While I take a somewhat different view of the passage, this article is worth reading.

The Date of the Davidic Covenant

Todd Bolen has written a very good article arguing that the Davidic Covenant (2 Sam 7) was made with David earlier rather than later in his reign. I read an earlier version of this article and have been persuaded that Todd is right. But you can access it here through links provided at his blog.
