Learning Space and Asynchronous Online Learning

If you are involved in the ever-changing world of education, you are probably familiar with the concept of asynchronous learning where students interact with their course according to their schedules. This often means watching prerecorded content. Those involved in this aspect of course delivery are most concerned with the packaging of the material (e.g., video and sound quality). But Nita Gopal has a thoughtful piece here related to how one should consider the place (or space) where the student is receiving the prerecorded content and the impact this might have on learning.

Glenn Weaver has started a blog devoted to Bible software and how such software affects interpretation. I first met Glenn in seminary and then would see him off-and-on at conferences as he represented Bibleworks. I am looking forward to seeing how this blog develops. New Volume in the Photo Companion to the Bible Series

Todd Bolen and the folks at Bible Places have done it again with their newest volume in the Photo Companion to the Bible series.This volume focuses on Ruth and it once again provides a plethora of pictorial resources broken down by chapter/verse. These images are helpfully presented in four separate PowerPoint presentations. Each presentation focuses on a chapter in the book. Just to give you an idea of the richness of this resource, there are 57 slides dedicated to 1:1 and the presentation contains 350 images total. This collection is on sale for only $20 this week and that includes free shipping (in the U.S.). This is surely one of the best bang-for-the-buck resources out there.
