Derek Kidner was my father and he died on November 27th. As well as being an Old Testament scholar, he began his career as a Concert Pianist. He won several major piano competitions and on one occasion played under Sir Malcom Sargent. He was a humble man who dedicated his life to the Lord, and I am honoured to have been his daughter. He was married to Mary who died in 2003 at the age of 90. Derek had two children, Jim and Faith, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Thank you for taking the time to post on my blog. I was not aware that your father was also an accomplished musician. It appears by your description that he was quite a man. I want to thank you and your family for sharing him with us through his ministry. I know that I have been theologically and spiritually enriched by his writings in particular. Let me also express my condolences to you and your family.
