Job as a Missional Book

Years ago in Bible college, my missions professor emphasized the global nature of the Old Testament. Tim Davy reminds us of how even the book of Job underscores that as well.

"One particularly striking feature of the book of Job is the way in which it intensifies the international tenor or outlook of the Wisdom Literature . . . by having a non-Israelite as its central human character and setting the events of the book outside of Israel (Job 1:10)."
