In some ways, I wonder if it's best to keep Psalm 80 as a "secret." When I was teaching the book of Psalms for the first time last year, it was a great joy and delight to "discover" this messianic psalm. Of course, those who aren't reading the psalms messianically won't see it, but those who do will have a surprise in store.
